Esther Cox is an artist interested in the flow and the tension between colour, shape and texture. Using the history and imperfections in vintage materials and found markings, she creates intuitive imagery and rhythms. She plays to the inbuilt human instinct for pattern recognition, identity and symbols.

Her recent practice uses textiles to create stained and painted abstract landscapes which explore the exuberance and chaos of nature in the playful encounters found on painted surfaces.
