Crafted with skill on resilient, acid-free butchers paper, this artwork embodies Roberts' unique approach to blending coloured pencil, graphite, watercolour, and oil paint. This piece is reflective of Roberts' newer style, which emerged during the pandemic period of 2020 onwards and features two enigmatic figures engaged in an intimate act of emotional connection. This narrative continues Roberts' long-standing fascination with love and intimate relationships that have been a significant theme in his work over the past 30 years.
Thanks to the acid-free properties of butchers paper, this artwork promises longevity and resistance to discoloration, maintaining its vibrancy for many years. The durable and lightweight qualities of this paper perfectly complement Roberts' techniques, resulting in an impressive blend of drawing and painting.
