Notes

This photograph was taken on Muizenberg Beach in Cape Town, South Africa.

"I was immediately drawn by the angularity of the composition; the black shadows of the stairs, and the foreground shadow softened by the wavey line tracing across the sand dune. The blocks of warm colour perfectly recall sunny days by the sea."

Nadia Attura travels the world capturing beautiful snapshots of the world around her. Back in her studio in London, she uses washes, paints, chalk and ink to build up each ethereal image before it is printed in its final painterly, poetic interpretation of the world.

In October 2018 Aesthetica Magazine writes "Nadia Attura a photographer who works with layering techniques to create complex compositions. Often grappling with ideas of idealism and paradise, the bright images are multifaceted tableaux, combining unexpected objects, settings and colours to construct uncanny depictions of desirable destinations."
