            Notes
In a doorway/At the window/A threshold is part of a larger practice that examines how a visual language operates under and within the terms of brevity, abbreviation, and poetics.
Caroline Kent is a Chicago based artist explores the limits of language and the process of translation through an expanded painting practice. Developed through an on-going archive of improvisational works on paper, the paintings build out of this context to exists in the multiple forms of drawings, paintings, sculpture, and performance.
Kent was a guest speaker in the School of Art & Art History and UIC Gallery 400 Voices Lecture Series in Spring 2021.
