26 OCTOBER 2023 - 17 NOVEMBER 2023Notes
Persiana, 2014 is a graphic work that was produced for the 1st solo survey of Arocha-Schraenen at CC Mechelen. The title and image come from their first work made in collaboration, Persiana I, 2006. This work is consistent with their interests as individual artists as well as their work together. The idea of speculation, seduction and beauty is embedded in this work.
Arocha ( b. 1961 VEN) studied biology and arts in Chicago while Schraenen ( b. 1971 BE) studied communication and graphic design in Antwerp. They joined forces in 2005 and have exhibited worldwide at Monique Meloche, Chicago; Fermay, Mallorca; Parisa Kind, Franfurt; CAB, Burgos; BOZAR, Busssels.
