Women in Art - Raising the Bar

Kate is an award-winning painter living on the Solway Coast in Southwest Scotland.

Kate’s location hugely influences her subject matter but equally her other passion is narrative painting, developed from life experiences and her love of the human form. Studio paintings are conceived from a series of random mark making. Subconscious underlying themes , memories of situations /places/light conditions often emerge aiding the development. En plein-air expeditions and life drawing/studies act as resource training exercises to aid with this process.

 She regularly shows at the Mall Galleries and has exhibited at the Royal Watercolour Society,The Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters ,The Royal Society of Marine Painters,The Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour ,Royal Birmingham Society of Artists.

She is an elected member of the Society of Women Artists .
