Young Russian Artists: The Rite of Spring
26 APRIL 2021 - 17 MAY 2021Notes
The “Photo Album” series portrays various moments and situations that people often capture in the form of a snapshot.
“The sculptures are slightly reminiscent of the aesthetics of Soviet figurines and depict different moments recorded in memory or simply noticed in everyday life. I like that sometimes sculptures work like a portal and can evoke unique memories and associations in the viewer. " - Nadezhda Likhogrud, 2021.
Nadezhda Likhogrud studio is located in the so-called Artists' Town on Verkhnyaya Maslovka. The architectural ensemble, consisting of communal houses for the work and life of artists, was conceived in the late 1920s, but was only partially realised.
