Rebuilding Beirut with Pride, Print Collection
FROM OCTOBER 2021 (UK time)A fundraising auction brought to you by Rebuilding Beirut with Pride, featuring artworks from a collection of Beirut and London’s finest emerging to mid-career contemporary artists.
Rebuilding Beirut with Pride, an LGBTQIA + led organisation, whose ambition is to support and raise funds for the Lebanese community. Proceeds from the live auction will be evenly distributed between three initiatives: Beit El Baraka, a charity supplying food, medical supplies and necessities, A Disaster Relief for Trans Community in Lebanon Fund and ARM Lebanon, an anti-Racism charity that supports Migrant Workers in the country.
The situation in Lebanon has been rapidly deteriorating since the 2020 Port Explosion and the country is now at the brink of collapse due to a corrupt government. Throughout the country there are shortages of food, fuel, electricity, medical supplies, and necessities. Food prices have risen by a staggering 400% between January to December 2020. For ordinary people in Lebanon, the situation is worsening day by day with 78% of the population estimated to be in poverty. For those who live in marginalised communities such as the LGBTQIA+ and migrant worker communities, access to support has become even more difficult.
The auction includes a breadth of artworks showcasing the innovative talents of those practising in and around London and Beirut.
The Rebuilding Beirut with Pride team are extremely grateful for the generous support.
A Timed Auction of artwork also raising funds for Rebuilding Beirut with Pride can be viewed here.
Auction Closes 30 October, 7pm (GMT)
