Ernesto Romano uses his own X-rays to make bold, glossy art. 

This work was created for the Queen Themed Exhibition curated for the Queen's 90th birthday in 2016. It was exhibited together with artworks by Mr. Brainwash, Nasser Azam, Gavin Turk and others. 

In Ernesto's work, the symbols of crowns or jewels stand out in their shiny materiality against boldly coloured skulls and bones. The contrast of these symbols with the momento mori-like skull are a move by the artist to show that we are all equal regardless of what we wear.
