Notes

Noga says of the work, ‘This work was created from an expanded collection of memorabilia in my father’s garage. My father managed the Caprice restaurant in Arlington St, my mother was a Jazz singer with big swing bands. He kept packets, 45 records and LP’s, sheet music, washers, door knobs, children’s toys, vintage papers, tools. The work is a calculated layering of colour, collage and mixed media, drawing the viewer into a peripheral world of imperfect geometries.'

Laurence Noga studied at Wimbledon School of Art in 1984 and completed his post graduate studies at Byam Shaw, Central St Martins. The artist serves as a lecturer at the University of the Arts London. In addition to his art historical writing and career as a curator, Noga has exhibited widely.
