Art for Ukraine

Mary’s West’s paintings are landscapes that throughout her creative process, take a life of their own. Veering between abstraction and figuration, West’s initial intuitive brushstrokes and drips of paint provide a framework for the work to emerge from. She believes that the paint itself becomes part of the subject matter. Memory, snippets of conversations and shared experiences all filter into her work.

Mary West graduated with a BA in Fine Art from The Slade School of Art, London and has most recently exhibited online with Irving Contemporary (2022). West’s work has been acquired by private collections in the UK, USA, Denmark, Hong Kong and Australia.
