Notes

Rebecca Kunzi’s work recalls key moments in her life based on the meals she has eaten, from the traumatic spinach soup she wasn’t allowed to leave as a child to the apple sauce filled Yorkshire puddings her mother made. Her interest in food as a stimulation for memory and the scenes and smells these conjure led to the creation of the #Mealtickets project, in which she paints ingredients and dishes on a miniature scale within a vintage ticket. These diminutive works offer Kunzi the unique ability to carry her studio with her, often settling in public places to enjoy a meal and paint, inviting a public audience.

Rebecca Kunzi completed a BA (Hons) Fine Art at Wimbledon College of Art. She has exhibited widely; highlights include Small Pleasures Part 1 & 2 at All Mouth Gallery 2021, the Sunday Times Watercolour Competition and Wales Contemporary Competition both in 2019.
