Art Fundraiser LA | Timed Auction
21 OCTOBER 2020 - 13 NOVEMBER 2020Notes
Bodily Confessions #1 Untitled (Milk) is from the series Bodily Confessions by Natasha Rudenko.
As an artist Natasha Rudenko interprets her personal experience as a human being. She addresses self-reflection and investigates the realms of feelings, emotions and identity constructs through photography.
Natasha Rudenko often uses her own body as a tool to express personal experiences and journeys. Using herself as a subject matter creates an additional tension juxtaposing herself as a subject and object of the creative process. Rudenko self-portraits are performative in their nature; they are constructed specifically for the camera and through embodying the duality of being both a subject and the object of the photographs she aims to re-claims and re-recognizes her identity.
In her recent projects she focuses on exploring her identity as a feminist, an immigrant and a white female artist in contemporary society.
