Art Fundraiser LA | Timed Auction
21 OCTOBER 2020 - 13 NOVEMBER 2020Notes
Still Life in Color explores the interaction of objects through the influence of vanitas paintings, memento mori and 17th century renaissance paintings.
Fabiola Bedoya combines color psychology theory and mixed media to manifest new realities by painting over artifacts of trauma. This work juxtaposes brightly colored Mexican heritage objects with darker personal histories. There is a deconstruction of the traditional vocabulary of these specific art forms and then a reconstruction of a modern bilingual visual language through the use of the traditional objects and Mexican papier-mâché fruit.
Fabiola is currently a student at University of Arizona, Tucson getting a BFA in Photography.
