The series ”Disappearing Alleys” was shot in Shanghai 2002 as the city was undergoing tremendous change in preparation for the World Expo & Beijing Olympics; tearing away old alley streets, relocating the people living there to outside the city and erecting luxury high rises.
The pictures manage to document a time and place that is changing as well as capture a place that might exist in our collective dreams.
