Art Fundraiser LA

Gaby Collins-Fernandez is an artist who lives and works in NYC. She is interested in how art history and one's personal imaginary merge to talk about feelings and sensation, especially using tactility and digital space.

This body of work begins as digital manipulations of historical paintings and family photographs, which are then printed and reworked, with each digital image germinating into dozens of drawings and paintings. In this work on paper, she returns to the hands from Piero della Francesca's Madonna del Parto, thinking about burgeoning, tenderness, and longing.
