About
Kathrin Isabell Rhomberg (she/her), Kathrin Isabell Rhomberg (*1990, Salzburg) studied Fine Arts Painting at University for Applied Arts, Vienna and Wimbledon College of Arts, London. Her work deals with mankind-environment realtionships in regards to the Anthropocene by featuring ambigous surfaces and structures such as folds of aluminium or fire. A series of translation processes between the digital and the real leads up to the final painterly object, drawing from a wide array of arthistoric references and contemporary discources sourrounding the topic.

Statement
The two submitted artworks REVERIE 1 and REVERIE 2 play with the idea of landscape painting in the context of the Anthropocene. The artificial becomes the new natural, almost like a tipping image the fold becomes an open field of association for the observer.
