Notes

About

I am a figurative painter based in Tunbridge Wells. The intention of my work is to challenge societal norms and destigmatize the often-misunderstood world of sex work, showcasing the strength, resilience, and power of women. I am interested in merging the boundaries between public and private and my art serves as a catalyst for conversations, sparking dialogue around taboo topics. As a mother, I bring a unique perspective to my work, shedding light on the intersection of parenthood and sex work, challenging stereotypes, and advocating for a more inclusive understanding. I invite my audience to question societal expectations, cultural biases, and the limited choices that impact women both inside and outside of the industry, while also celebrating their humanity. My intention is to contribute to the sex worker movement, creating awareness, fostering empathy, and challenging public perceptions. I hope to build a future that embraces diversity and recognises the rights and dignity of every individual.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

In these headless images of Erin, both seated and standing, I maintain anonymity while emphasising her empowerment. Without revealing facial features, the paintings highlight resilience through body language. The seated pose emanates confidence, challenging expectations, while the standing pose showcases boldness. By intentionally preserving anonymity, the art aims to celebrate Erin's empowerment universally, fostering understanding and empathy for those in the sex industry.
