Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork

These works are within my Big Little Scotland series. Big Little Scotland is about interpretation of scale and individual experience or connection to the landscape. It interests me that when we do seek ‘wild’ places there is a preconception that they must be big/majestic/isolated/remote/inaccessible. What I find is that it isn’t necessarily the size or scale of the landscape, (for what is ‘Big’ or ‘Little’ is entirely an individual experience), but the true majesty comes from the connection or feeling that a particular place evokes within. Why do some places in particular make you feel there is no-where else as special? One person’s mountain can be another’s meadow.
