Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Max Freund is a Vienna based painter, dealing with the uncertainty of anthropocene ideas. His works bring together diverse sign systems that modulate the hieroglyphics of our time. Through paintings, drawings and artist books he enables depictions to turn to pictograms and shift between their own resonance. The dyed, reworked and overpainted surfaces link with accurate line drawings, raw gestures and immediate color combinations. His interest in diverting materials from their intended use, placing them next to each other and overlaying them with thick oil paint, shape the haptic feeling of an image and counteracts digital sensations.
PLEASE DO NOT BID ON ARTWORK IN OUR ART ON A POSTCARD AUCTIONS IF YOU INTEND ON SELLING THE ARTWORK AFTER YOU HAVE PURCHASED IT.
