Notes
Simon Carter was born in Essex in 1961. He studied at Colchester Institute and North East London Polytechnic. His solo exhibitions include The SEA Foundation, Netherlands; Messum's, London; and Firstsite, Essex. His work is held in several museum collections including Abbot Hall, Rugby Art Gallery, Swindon Art Gallery and the University of Essex. Recently work has entered museum collections in China and USA.
Carter co-founded the artist collective Contemporary British Painting and also the East Contemporary Art Collection housed at the University of Suffolk.
Carter is President of Colchester Art Society, a trustee of the Victor Batte-Lay Foundation and is represented by Messum's, London.
