Notes
"I really miss my dad. After 45 years of him not being around, I still want to turn to him to ask him things. We laughed a lot together. He knew the absurdities of life. I wrote a brief description of being in the garden with him one starry night back in Somerset.
It must have been the late 1960s or early 70s. He told me about the speed of light, what we then knew of the universe and how earthly humans should try to be decent. Every time I look up to see the stars I think of him. So I edited and rewrote the lazy Father’s Day message about not being bothered and made it about being bothered instead, even 45 years later."
Paul Davis’ images disrupt an impassive relationship to life on earth. Paul finds life preposterous, but still madly beautiful.
