Notes
Danny Fox (born 1986, St Ives, England) lives and works in Los Angeles, USA and his native St. Ives, UK. The men in Fox’s paintings are riding horses, this beautiful potent creature that has carried man to victory and grave, and so those men often have an empathetic tragic feel, while the women feel empowered and secure. In Fox's work, tragedy and genocide, the heat, sex, violence and promise of LA, entangled like the best and worst lovers, are translated into beautiful fragmented abstraction. Upcoming and recent exhibitions include Punch (group exhibition), curated by Nina Chanel Abney, Deitch, Los Angeles (2019), Some Mornings Catch a Wraith (solo exhibition), Berggruen Gallery, San Francisco (2019), Blood Spots On Apple Flesh (solo exhibition), Zidoun-Bossuyt Gallery, Luxenbourg, andIconoclasts (group exhibition), Saatchi Gallery, London.
