This painting was inspired by the natural beauty of Oxleas Wood. Oxleas Wood is one of the few remaining areas of ancient deciduous forest in the Royal Borough of Greenwich in southeast London. Some parts date back over 8,000 years to the end of the last ice age.
Diana (b.1983) is a Lithuanian born painter now living and working in London. She uses oil paint as her primary medium to create expressive, semi-abstract paintings. Diana is a graduate of Vilnius Academy of Arts, where she achieved a BA in Fine Arts/Painting.
Diana has had several solo shows - Cole’s Gallery in Leeds (2020), Thames-Side Studios (2019 and 2017), Art Fix Gallery (2017), ASC Unit-3 (2013), London Regatta Centre (2013).
Diana’s work has been selected for several group exhibitions across the UK in venues like Royal Academy of Arts, Saatchi Gallery, Mall Galleries, Peterborough Museum Gallery, The Bishop’s Palace in Wells, The Old Truman’s Brewery, Hundred Years Gallery and more. Her artworks are continuously shown at various online exhibitions and art auctions.
In 2021 Diana was invited to participate in one month’s residency at Unit-1 Gallery| Workshop in London.
In 2020 Diana won an artist’s open call with Colle’s Gallery in Leeds and has been awarded a solo exhibition.
In 2017 she was awarded with Winsor and Newton Young Artist Award while exhibiting her work in Mall Galleries in London.
Diana’s artwork has been published in The Working Artist Magazine (March 2021), Aesthetica Magazine (December/January 2019), Mall Galleries catalogue (ROI 2017), The Royal Institute of Oil Painters website (ROI 2017 Prize Winners), online blog On Art and Aesthetics (2017). Diana’s artworks are held in several private collections in Europe and USA.
