Notes
In this work, images from the 1950's 'The Practical Motorist' magazine are deconstructed and rearranged to form a nostalgic snapshot of mid-century motoring.
Created in his Shoreditch studio, this work reflects Adam Robinson's ongoing search for vintage material at flea markets, car boot sales and charity stores across Europe, "I love the notion of salvaging something from the past, reworking it and giving it a new lease of life for a contemporary audience."
Constructed on canvas and separated with painted wooden strips, the overall circular shape references essential components of a car such as the wheels, pistons and steering wheel.
