“I work mostly with watercolour and oil paint. I feel like we are becoming more and more alienated from ourselves, each other and nature. Painting is my own way of reaching inwards, to try and navigate through feeling and recover a sense of that severed connection. Lately I have been trying to create a sacred space within my work where nature, inner psychology, and spirituality mesh together on one plane. My process is very intuitive, usually beginning with a pure expression of colour, within which I then observe and unearth figures and landscapes from, as if they were already there.” Simona Orentaite, 2020.
