Sourcing visual and thematic influence from personal experience and intertwining that with collective mythology, Mady’s paintings evoke the feeling entering a moment in a larger narrative. In her world there are recurring characters and costumed figures which create a theatrical space drawing on her parallel path as a costume designer. At the core of her practice is a desire to make sense of her ever fluctuating mental landscape by creating an imaginative world which is imbued with symbolism, humour and curiosity.
