Every peak is a crater. This is the law of volcanoes, making them eternally and visibly female. Rita Lamas is a multi-disciplinary artist and film colourist. Colaborating with both visual artists and filmmakers such as Pedro Costa, Cary Fukanaga, Pedro Neves Marques and others, the approximation between narrative and pictorial and sensorial representation is always a major component in her practices. The key themes such as memory transhumance, relationships between sciences and myths, the fascination with mountains and natural occurring events, geology, the sea, explorations, alchemy and the role of the archive are a key figures in her body of work.
