"My paintings are concerned with reflections, recollections and memories of the poetic in the everyday. Our days are in the main made up of numerous insignificant moments and it is these moments that I find interesting to paint and so the insignificant becomes memorable.

I work in oils and the IPhone is my preferred method of recording an event. The images are paired down and the less essential detail is stripped away. To enhance the notion of memory, the paintings begin with a stained coloured ground, which is wiped on prior to developing the composition. That colour remains there as a reminder that the image speaks of the memory of an event."
