Terrence Higgins Trust, The Timed Auction 2021

Hedley Roberts is an award-winning artist, graduate of Central Saint Martins and of the Royal College of Art, and a Professor of Art. His paintings and portrait commissions are collected and exhibited internationally, including Japan, South East Asia, Australia, USA and throughout Europe.

The artist will undertake a 50cm x 50cm portrait commission of a person nominated by the winning bidder. Working in the continuum of figurative artists like Francis Bacon, Leon Kossoff and Frank Auerbach, Hedley Roberts uses his signature brushwork to make expressive  portrait paintings where the sitter is ‘transformed’ through the painting process.

Terms and conditions
The painting is mainly interpreted from photographs, but the artist will need a couple of sittings. This can be done virtually. These dates need to be mutually agreed with the artist before 10th June 2021.
