In Charlotte McDonald's work, landscapes are transformed in to abstract works with the deft swipe of a paintbrush and a paired down palette of just a few colours. It is possible to recognise features of the landscape whilst also allowing the form and colour to be appreciated in and of itself. 

Charlotte McDonald is a London based artist inspired by landscape and sense of place. Responding to landscapes around her from her family home in Scotland to places that are close to her, Charlotte explores and responds to the relationship between texture, colour and shape in a simplified abstract form.
