Notes
Tom Phillips CBE RA is a renowned artist, writer and composer. His artwork has been exhibited in galleries around the world and is held in several public collections, including the National Portrait Gallery.
This colourful piece was inspired by a ballet performed at the Bolshoi in 1871, in which children were dressed in giant eggshells. This limited edition was produced specially for Paintings in Hospitals.
Phillips’s first solo show was in 1965 at the Artists International Association Gallery in London, followed by an exhibition at the Angela Flowers Gallery in 1970.
