Notes
Inspired by the rugged beauty of Brutalist architecture, this etching by London based print maker Yoonjung Shim, recreates the regularities of a rippling façade in black and white.
The inconsistent lines which form this geometric tessellation allude to the imperfections that we find around us in urban life.
Yoonjung’s work explores the aesthetic of abstract, conceptual, geometric compositions in various forms of etchings. With interests in architecture and spatial design, she portrays geometric patterns that we can encounter in our everyday lives such as in fabrics and buildings. She loves the subtle inconsistencies created by the human hand as opposed to digital graphics.
