Notes

Omu is the highest point of the Bucegi Mountains in the Carpathians, Romania. The mountains were named by locals after the moss and junipers of the forests seen in the foreground of the photograph.

Fine art photographer, Charles Emerson has a long-held fascination with mountains, both their geology and the myths that surround them.

Visiting remote locations from Romania to Jordan, he layers multiple exposures of the same vista to create dramatic images that powerfully express the permanence and grandeur of mountain landscapes.

Intelligent Life Magazine and The Economist commissioned Charles to create this series named Myth and Mountain.

Another work from the Myth and the Mountain series is also included in The Spring Auction and can be seen here.

Accolades
Charles Emerson studied BA Hons Photography at Falmouth College of Arts. His work has been exhibited both in the UK and internationally.
