Notes

Working from his studio in South East London, Jonathan Lawes uses paper stencils to create multilayered unique screen prints.

Jonathan has an intuitive way of approaching his prints. His compositions evolve as he is printing; he often returns to a work to add another layer or colour until he feels the composition is complete. Earlier layers of colour are revealed through masking off technique and the translucent nature of some of the inks. Whilst the construction is a celebration of geometry and pattern, he feel is hand finished and organic.

Jonathan Lawes is also including Elevation 02 in The Spring Auction.
