Notes
The award-winning artist Paul Wardski uses his artwork to address social-political issues in the housing crisis.
"My work is a reflection upon past experience coupled with social-political issues, primarily the
displacement of people through the regeneration of social housing and urban development. I engage with sites of contradiction that are local to me, and within those sites I search for objects that have been left behind by past inhabitants."
Exploring his relationship with the found object and the space from where it is collected, Paul finds himself drawn to the tangible motif quality of the objects that have been left behind and discarded.
"I create fictitious interiors housed within an imagined landscape these painterly surreal rooms and objects, distorted in scale, evoke loss and abandonment. Painterly surreal rooms and objects, distorted in scale, evoke loss and abandonment."
