Notes

Catherine White's mirror based artwork is inspired by the rugged stretch of California’s Big Sur coastline.

Big Sur is characterised by towering red wood trees and the expansive, blue Californian skies. Catheine evokes this natural environment in this work and uses a reflective surface to bounce light around the work and the viewer.

"My work is inspired by memory, proportions and colours from vistas in the natural and built environment.  It is my hope that the abstracted forms invite the viewer to complete the image themselves and are intended as cues to evoke memories."

Catherine White was born and raised on the British Island of Bermuda. The work is created in her Dalston studio in London, and printed in Clerkenwell and Homerton.
