Notes

Grayson Perry is from larger series called ‘Portraits with Fans’ where I made images of famous male artists being excited to meet me.  Others in the series include Damien Hirst, The Chapman Brothers and Jeff Koons.

Sarah Maple is an award winning visual artist known for her bold, brave, mischievous and occasionally controversial artworks that challenge notions of identity, religion and the status quo.

She works in a wide variety of media including painting, photography, sculpture, collage, and video. Much of Sarah’s inspiration originates from her mixed religious and cultural upbringing in the 1980’s in Eastbourne and she often employs self-portraiture, alongside her guerrilla-style performances, as a vehicle for her narrative. Her recent practice has focused on the disturbing parallels between the political climate in the US and the UK looking at themes of fear, division, toxic masculinity, and xenophobia. Sarah often references the work of other artists in her own, especially the YBA sharp humour and satirical eye.
