Notes
Using marquetry techniques, a painstaking process of laying wood veneers down into a design, Olly fathers creates geometric, shape-based work which celebrate the beauty in grain and colour of the various wood veneers used. This particular piece reuses the offcuts which Olly carefully sets aside as he makes his work. The offcuts give his work a sense of chance, lightness and movement.
Olly Fathers is an artist based in Brixton, London, where he has been for over ten years.
