2nd Rat Hole is from a series of photographs first shown in the November 2023 exhibition Survival On Land & Sea at Scherben, Berlin. 

John Neff is an artist and teacher. He lives in Chicago. Past exhibition venues include Artists Space, New York; The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago; The Philadelphia Museum of Art; Regards, Chicago; The Renaissance Society, Chicago; Scherben, Berlin; Donald Young Gallery, Chicago. Neff received a MFA from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2001. He co-curated the UIC Gallery 400 exhibitions Intimacies (2011) and Spectral Landscape (with Viewing Stations) (2012). He exhibited in the UIC Gallery 400 exhibition Loop in 2002 and spoke in the Voices Lecture Series in 2006. His work was recently included in the Gallery 400's exhibition Reckless Rolodex (2023).
