Notes


A native of Chicago, Robert Stiegler was a UIC professor. He received a BFA and an MFA from the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology, where he studied with Aaron Siskind and Arthur Siegel. He taught at the University of Illinois at Chicago in the School of Art and Design from 1966 until he died in 1990. Stiegler received grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Illinois Arts Council. His work is in public and private collections, including the Art Institute of Chicago, the Museum of Modern Art, New York, and the George Eastman House, Rochester.
