Young Russian Artists: The Rite of Spring
26 APRIL 2021 - 17 MAY 2021Notes
“I work with fragmented images, trying to create in them a conflict of plastic abstract forms and their semiotic meaning, so that they are inaccessible for direct reading, but at the same time remain a document about the act of action itself, remotely resembling something. If identity implies belonging, then I try to find forms that would deny themselves: do not belong to themselves. I also try to find ways of anti-communication arising from the internal deformation of certain elements. Find such a form of how the perception of space changes when it is stratified”. - Irina Dobromyslova, 2018.
Irina Dobromyslova is a student at Moscow's HSE Art and Design School.
