Alyson attended Boston University and The School of Visual Arts, learning a BFA. During her time within Hunter College’s Master Program, she studied non-fiction video within the Integrated Media Graduate Program.

She has taught photography at NYU Steinhardt School, Columbia University, for The Ministry of Education in El Salvador, and Bilingual Education for Central America in Honduras, The School of Visual Arts, and UCLA Extension and most recently adjunct at The New York Film Academy.
Her clients include GQ, The New York Times Magazine, New York Magazine, Newsweek, Time, Business Week, Wired, Fast Company, Inc, Allure, People, Greenpeace, and Ogilvy and Mather.

She is a contributing artist with Getty Images and Redux Pictures. Alyson makes environmental portraits of real people, with reverence and authenticity.

Born and raised in New York, she now lives in Los Angeles.
