About
Emily North was born in South Yorkshire and is now based in South East London. She works with a combination of found images and imagined spaces to explore an interest in youth culture and nightlife. Emily similarly takes inspiration from music and the culture that surrounds it. She combines audio, light and painting to articulate and communicate the experience and significance of clubs as a social phenomenon. Emily also has a series of still lives, ‘Garage Station Flowers’, which use cheap bouquets to explore the pitfalls of modern dating.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
For the auction I have created two works in water soluble graphite. ‘Welcome Home’ is an imagined still life. ‘Plantasia’ is inspired by my home.
