Art on a Postcard International Women’s Day Auction - Curated by Sandra De Giorgi
23 FEBRUARY 2023 - 09 MARCH 2023Notes
About
Contemporary canine artist born in rural Devon, who spends more time with dogs than humans. Amys earlier studies in fashion design are instrumental today in her stylistic, emotional mark making and bold use of colour. Her original artworks are predominantly created in mixed media; heavy strokes of acrylic paint layered under, and over, black ink washes. She works from both still imagery and live sittings with canine muses, immortalising her four legged models on paper or plywood. An artwork style that fits simultaneously in traditional and contemporary homes across the globe.

Statement about AOAP Submitted Artworks
These mini artworks were created for Art On a Postcard depicting dogs, as always featured in my work. I'm particularly drawn to dogs with human like features; squiffy lips, stinking side eyes, looking-into-your-soul glares, and wanted to embody these characters in my mini paint-sketches. Acrylic and pen on paper.
