About the artwork
Astriction is an ongoing series of diptychs dealing with suburban angst, societal anxiety and scenes of a domestic nature. Each “Tension” consists of one constructed portrait and one tableau still life (Abstraction) nspired by the films of Douglas Sirk, Harmony Korine and David Lynch the series aims to create an unsettling but essentially banal set of images. The work also focuses on humanising female vulnerability whilst utilising photographic techniques commonly associated with objectification and exploitation.”
About the artist
Daniel Keys is a photographic artist based in London.He is a winner of the British Journal of Photography's Portrait of Britain Award and his work has been internationally exhibited in the UK, Italy, Germany, Norway, Hungary, Canada and America.He is currently represented by Millennium Images and Bleur Art and is a member of Film Shooters Collective.
