About the Artist

Diana Taylor, an artist deeply immersed in the themes of loss and ruin in visual culture, explores contemporaneity through a poly-temporal archive in the 're' age. Drawing from a diverse, potentially anarchic system of personal, historical, and contemporary artifacts, she uses methods like scanning, collaging, and fragmenting to layer multiple media, reassembling history and probing the past's material presence (and absence) within the present.

Her recurring motifs, appropriated from sources like museum catalogues, architectural books, and botanical guides, undergo processes of ruination and fragmentation. These images, often of low quality, allude to the contemporary contradictions and uncertainties, reflecting Taylor's unique perspective on the convergence of art, history, and the evolving visual landscape.
