A line in the sand: an artistic response in support of humanitarian efforts in Gaza
03 JANUARY 2023 - 31 JANUARY 2024Notes
About the Artwork
A depiction of the power of protection between a mother and her unborn child, using minimal expressive lines that nod to a maternal feeling of wrapping and cocooning.
About the Artist
Louise uses her art to explore the space between emotional subjectivity and objective appearance. Her mark making is fuelled by the raw layers of what it is to be human. Every lump, bump and marker of time passing. The love, loss, envy, loneliness, ecstasy and everything in between of what it is to feel alive. For Louise, drawing provides clarity, a therapy. An escape from her own perfectionism, and need to control, slipping into something more explorative, organic and unexpected
