Art on a Postcard International Women’s Day Auction - Curated by Vanessa Murrell

About
Zayn Qahtani is a multidisciplinary working between London and Bahrain. Qahtani’s body of work is a diligent effort at archiving a personal archaeological practice - works feel discovered rather than created, alluding to a life beyond the maker. This becomes apparent in Zayn’s use of materiality: papers crafted from date palm trees in Bahrain, bioplastics that come from sugarcane, and pigments borne from plants, crystals, metals and earth all intermingle to form objects and images that seem to be animated with a life of their own.
