Statement about AOAP Submitted Artwork
Through his painting, Jochen Mühlenbrink places himself in the tradition of centuries-old philosophical questioning–and does so in a contemporary way that is both fascinating and shocking. Ultimately, it transpires that what I perceive does not necessarily have to correspond to the truth. Cogito ergo sum–I think, therefore I am. Or not?

Nothing is as it seems. Not even the strips of sticky tape on the canvas, which of course are not sticky tape at all, but merely painted on.
